I have been lucky enough to do three shoots with Millie at Oh Baby Photography whilst being pregnant! Once before the start of the pandemic, and then twice during lockdown in the form of FaceTime shoots.

Although I've been modelling for 8 years now, this is my first time being pregnant, and although I had done a couple of shoots since becoming pregnant, this was the first one specifically for maternity images - so I was actually nervous for the first time before a shoot in a long time!
Millie made me feel so comfortable though, and her studio is so welcoming. A big plus for me was that it was warm! (I have done quite a few shoots where the studios or locations have been freezing, and it makes it so much harder to look nice when all you can think about is how cold you are).

I don't usually like many of the photos of myself I get back from shoots - its really hard to look at a picture and not just see all the things I don't like. But I can honestly say I loved Millie's images of me! Which is strange because they are also all centred around my tummy, which is not generally a part of my body that I try and draw attention to!

Once we we went into lockdown, all my upcoming shoots had to be cancelled. But Millie got in touch with me about a new idea she had for doing socially distanced shoots. The idea was to take the pictures over FaceTime, which was another first for me - I was really excited to try it out!

I set up my phone on a tripod, and Millie took the pictures at her end on her phone, before re-photographing them on her usual camera against different backgrounds.
The results were really beautiful! It was such a lovely way to capture my growing bump at a time when I couldn't share it in any other way.

I did a third shoot with Millie, again over FaceTime but this time with Ian. I was a little worried it would be difficult to fit the two of us on the screen - it just looked way to small! But we set everything up in the same way (in our new nursery!) and it was so much fun, I was so excited to see the end results.

I love these images so much! They are so dreamy and magical. At such a strange time to be pregnant, they are something so special to me. They are something we will always have to look back on and remember.

I cannot recommend Millie more as a photographer. To find out more about her work and to book a shoot with her, visit her website: https://www.ohbabyphotography.co.uk
